In this mode, up to four players work together to complete various objectives while fending off waves of enemies. In addition to the single-player campaign, Metal Gear Survive features a multiplayer mode called "Salvage Missions". They can also build and fortify their own base to defend against enemy attacks. Players can gather resources to craft weapons, tools, and other useful items needed for survival. The game features a variety of gameplay elements including crafting, base-building, and cooperative multiplayer modes. The player must survive in this hostile world by scavenging for food and resources and fighting off dangerous monsters that roam the landscape. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic open world where players assume the role of a soldier who is transported to an alternate version of reality following the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
